THINK TANK - A Story in 13 Images

Romania entered the NATO in 2003 and was immediately sending troops into Afghanistan. One of the first battalions that was sent there, had the name of a king from 16th century, called Nicolae Basarab but the US-Army said: Who's that? The Romanians tried to explain: This was our king, this was our hero, this is our past. But the americans said: No way this is too complicated. From now on you will be named „Red Scorpions“.

I was trying to find a fitting character to describe war, military thinking, aggresion, power. And one of the characters I found, was a tank. The tank and its context.

The context of democracy and its rules... NON SMOKING TANK

This is the tank winning hearts and minds... CHEWING GUM TANK

And of course, a tank allways represents hardware. Big tanks represent big hardware. This is a... BIG TANK WITH SMALL FLAG

A small American flag as opposed to a... EUROPEAN TANK

Nowadays regardless the topic it is always about oil... OIL TANK

or about... FREEDOM

But everybody has its own freedom: FREEDOM FREEDOM

And then again – nobody has freedom: NO FREEDOM

and so on and so on... THE MISSING POINT TANK

DREAMING OF POWER has its own consequences
